National Youth Council of Mauritius Launches its First-Ever Website

The National Youth Council of Mauritius, operating under the aegis of the Ministry of Youth & Sports, officially launched its website on Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at 14:00hr, at Labourdonnais Waterfront Hotel, Port Louis.

With a wealth of materials about NYC, the website also concentrates on happenings and projects of Regional Youth Councils and Youth Clubs. This portal will act as a directory of contact details for the citizens of Mauritius who are willing to look for Youth Clubs and Regional Youth Councils. A calendar of activities, Photo gallery, Past events, and Board members, among others, will be the main pages available on the website.

“The goal is to offer a platform where young people with diverse point of view can help establish, amid the chaos of personal agendas, a national agenda of Mauritius. For those who listen only to what they already believe speak only to themselves. The launch of the NYC website today is more than a mere embracement of ICT. To us, who understand that information equals knowledge and that knowledge equals power, the realisation and the launch of this new website embodies NYC’s unwavering quest to strengthen its global reach.”

Mr. Krishna Athal, Chairman of the National Youth Council of Mauritius

Every youngster who is keen to put the country on the development track will have a say on the website. We have islands of success in every field of activity; we should connect them to make a garland. I am confident that NYC’s new website would create knowledge connectivity among the people,” he added.
