To,
Mr Nad Sivaramen
Director of Publications
La Sentinelle
Dear Mr Sivaramen,
I write to you concerning the article published in L’express on 13 September 2018, entitled “Certificat non délivré: Krishna Athal fait l’objet d’une Precautionary Measure”.
- “Il a suivi un cours en leadership auprès de YUVA, dont le directeur est Krishna Athal. Or l’organisme refuse de lui donner son certificat.”
Another candidate following the same course had served us with a formal letter of complaint against Kadressen Vydelingum (alias Niven) detailing harassment. For this reason, his certificate was retained until the internal inquiry being carried out has been duly completed and the case settled.
- “…l’étudiant a suivi ce cours afin d’obtenir le «Certificate in Leadership for Social Challenges».”
We offer no such course under this name. Instead, we offer the Certificate in Leadership for Social Change.
- “C’est pour cette raison qu’il n’a pas hésité à payer les frais de Rs 1 000.”
The course fee is actually registered at the MQA for Rs 8,000, however our course fee is only Rs 1,000 from participants because our priority is to impart and share knowledge rather than simply make profit.
- “…Krishna Athal ne possède pas les accréditations nécessaires pour délivrer ce cours.” – Quoted from the article
“YUVA n’aurait pas les accréditations nécessaires pour délivrer le Certificate in Leadership for Social Challenges.” – Quoted from L’express’ Facebook page
YUVA works in collaboration with the Stephen Business School to run the program. The program is fully registered under the following:
- MQA registration of both our leadership and entrepreneurship courses [Download certificate]
- Training Institution licenced under the MQA [Download certificate]
- Registered Company under the Registrar of Business [Download certificate]
– Quoted from L’express’ Code De Déontologie
The publication of this article has caused prejudice to YUVA. The article has also placed the Organisation’s integrity into question and has tarnished the efforts and pioneering work that we have, until such time, been doing.
The journalist who penned this article did not, at any time, exercise his/her journalistic integrity by contacting YUVA for clarification, context or factual information, and instead published a one-sided and half-truth piece of writing.
We strongly condemn the publication of this article and the repercussions it is leading the Organisation to face. We appeal to you to rectify the same.
Regards,
Krishna Athal
Executive Director
