YUVA participates in UTM’s Community Learning and Engagement 2019 at MACOSS Regional Leadership Centre

The Mauritius Council of Social Service (MACOSS), in collaboration with the University of Technology, Mauritius (UTM), invited various Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) on Friday 26 April 2019 at the MACOSS Regional Leadership Centre to participate in the 2019 edition of the CLEn Programme.

YUVA responded positively to the call, along with many other NGOs, including APEDED, Befrienders, APSA and The Mauritius Scouts Association.

YUVA Academy’s Leadership for Social Change Programme: April 2019 Cohort

The third cohort of the Leadership for Social Change (LSC) programme started on 7 April 2019. It is a four-session training conducted over a period of one month and trainers of the YUVA Academy deliver the programme. The purpose of the LSC programme is to inspire young leaders to develop their own understandings of what constitutes good leadership and how to apply this knowledge in real life situations.

15 MITD Students Graduate in YUVA’s Student Leadership Programme

The last session of the Student Leadership Programme (SLP) was held on Monday 8 April 2019 at the Shaan-e-Rasool Mosque in Plaine Verte with students of the Mauritius Institute of Training and Development (MITD).

Throughout the programme, the students were able to learn about the concept of leadership, a topic that they were previously unfamiliar with, and to reflect on how they can cultivate leadership traits and apply these to their individual lives. The programme consisted of interactive sessions and fun activities, such as role plays, making shapes and figures out of modelling clay, speeches and dialogues to capture the attention of the students and increase their interest in the topic.
