STEM Education in Mauritius

YUVA is the pioneering organisation promoting STEM education in Mauritius and the rest of Africa. STEM is an abbreviation for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. STEM is an interdisciplinary approach to learning where academic concepts are coupled with real-world lessons. Students apply science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in contexts that connect the classroom and the world around them.

STEM is a curriculum based on educating students in four specific disciplines — science, technology, engineering and mathematics — in an interdisciplinary and applied approach. Rather than teach the four disciplines as separate and discrete subjects, STEM integrates them into a cohesive learning paradigm based on real-world applications.

Robotics Training in Mauritius

YUVA’s STEM education initiative aims to inspire science and technology leadership and innovation in young people from Mauritius to increase understanding, impress the importance of cooperation, address the world’s most pressing issues, and improve the quality of life for all.

This mission is accomplished through robotics training.

If you are a Mauritian of 15-18 years old, and you want us to be part of the 2022 Robotics Team Mauritius, who’ll travel to Geneva to participate in the FGC, send us your motivation letter and contact details at info@yuvamauritius.com

By showing the youth of Mauritius that if they learn how to communicate, cooperate, and work together using the tools of science and engineering to find solutions to the world’s grand challenges – water, energy, security, medicine, food, and education – they learn how to work with each other, trust each other, and become part of a truly global community.
