Youth-led action in Plaines Wilhems.
YUVA Plaines Wilhems connects young people across Mauritius’ central urban communities with opportunities to learn, volunteer, lead and contribute to positive change.
Urban communities. Human connections.
Plaines Wilhems brings together some of Mauritius’ major urban communities, where young people navigate education, work, technology, social change and rapidly evolving aspirations.
YUVA creates opportunities for young people to move beyond simply living in a community to actively contributing to it through volunteering, skills development, education, leadership and civic participation.
Our district approach connects local realities with the wider YUVA Mauritius network, allowing young people, volunteers, institutions and partners to work together across communities.

Communities connected through YUVA Plaines Wilhems.
YUVA’s published Plaines Wilhems structure connects its four major town networks with additional communities associated with the district.
One district. Four major urban communities.
Each town has its own identity, while young people across Plaines Wilhems share many of the same ambitions, pressures and opportunities.
Youth development works best when young people participate.
YUVA does not see young people merely as beneficiaries. We create opportunities for them to become participants, contributors and leaders.
