YUVA Staff Empowered on Critical Thinking at African Leadership University

On Wednesday, 4 December 2019, a workshop was organised at the African Leadership Campus on Critical Thinking, by the company Open to Possibilities, to empower 10 members of YUVA.

Open to Possibilities is a Canadian based firm that works with Businesses, Organisations and Business Leaders to help them identify their problems and facilitate proactive filled change so that they can focus on the growth of the organisation. They provide many services, such as facilitation, workshops, coaching and speaking. Ms Margo Purcell of Open to Possibilities was the facilitator for the workshop and she focused mainly on the framework that the members could equip themselves with to incorporate critical thinking in any task, project or venture they plan to engage in.

Krishna Athal talks about “The Future of Digital Society” at FutureFest of African Leadership University

YUVA Executive Director Krishna Athal talked about “The Future Of Digital Society In Digital Economy” during the FutureFest-ALU at the Jin Fei Auditorium.

This event brings together students and professionals from across the island and abroad to look at the future of humanity through different lenses, such as culture, technology, the digital economy, and more.

YUVA participates in Climate Change Conference 2019 at African Leadership University (ALU)

The African Leadership University (ALU), in partnership with Ideas For Us (Mauritius), organised a climate change conference and symbolic tree planting exercise on Saturday, 1 June 2019 in commemoration of the World Environment Day, which is celebrated on 5 June. YUVA was invited to participate in the event.

The aim of this conference was to work on sustainable initiatives in order to counteract climate change and change the future. Ideas For Us joined hands with all its partners present at the conference to engage in a good cause. The organisation has also accepted the UN Plastic Challenge programme to beat plastic wastes in Mauritius.

YUVA participates in African Leadership College Career Fair 2019

A warm welcome and introduction to ALU and the fair was done by Mr Theodore Sutherland, the Head of College. He shared the vision of ALU, their innovative learning model and the approach to preparing work-ready talent in the 21st century. Furthermore, Mr Christopher Williams, one of our global experts in residence shared more insights on the importance of talents in an ever-changing world. He focused on what organizations have done to adapt to changing trends and the relevance of talent in adapting to these changes and believes that being versatile is important.
