It also highlights the need to advance the literacy agenda towards a more literate and sustainable society.

Despite significant global advancements, literacy challenges persist, with 763 million young individuals lacking basic literacy skills as of 2020. Recent crises, including the COVID-19 pandemic, have only served to exacerbate these challenges.
