Call for Applications: Social Leader Forum 2016 in Georgia

Creative Development Center in cooperation with CRISP e.V and with financial support of Black Sea trust and Erasmus+ is recruiting representatives from Public, NGO and (Social) Business sectors, coming from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Russia, and Turkey to participate in the Social Leader Forum 2016. The forum aims to foster discussion and exchange on the issue of social entrepreneurship and its role in integration of vulnerable groups into society, especially when it comes to the labor market. As experience shows, there is an urgent need for all sectors to combine their strength and experiences in order to tackle the issue.

Program Activities:

In order to reach program goals the project foresees the following activities:

  • Kick off meeting – September 29-October 5, Georgia.
    The participants meet to exchange on their expertise in order to develop networks for future cooperation. The participants will get input on building cross-sector/cross-border cooperation and plan the next steps, which is the implementation of local initiatives in the region. The meeting is visited by representatives of public as well as business sector.
  • Local activities – October-November
    The participants develop and conduct project ideas that are either cross border or cross sector. The project ideas should include further plan for sustainable development of cooperation. They get seed funding from the program in order to implement the projects before the Forum.
  • Forum – December 4-11, Istanbul, Turkey
    During the Forum the participants present their projects, evaluate their local activities and meet representatives of other sectors. This meeting is mainly focused on presenting local actions, for their further development and building partnerships. We plan to invite important actors from business, CSO and public sectors, who are potential supporters of such initiatives. Besides that, the final meeting will include an Alumni forum, in order to connect new fellows with alumni of previous years!

  • All expenses are covered including travel and accommodation.
  • There is NO participation Fee.

Eligibility:

  • Open to participants from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Russia, and Turkey.
  • Applicants can be working in public administration, (social) business, NGOs, universities, think tanks and other spheres of professional engagement concerning the issue of youth unemployment, labor migration, creating income opportunities for disadvantage groups (rural youth, IDPs, women, minorities), career development for young people, social entrepreneurship and are interested in cross-sector cooperation and social innovation.
  • Applicants should have a strong interest in exchanging on best practice and the developing and learning of new ways of working on the issue and to think “out-of-the-box”.
  • There is no age limit, but a minimum age of 18.
  • Working language is English.
  • The participants will be selected by a joint jury from all partner organizations. Partners from Germany as well as from other countries will provide expert workshops for all participants.

Vibrant Saurashtra Expo & Summit 2016

YUVA has become the exclusive Mauritian international partner of Vibrant Saurashtra Expo & Summit 2016, to be held from 7 to 10 January 2016 in Gujarat, India.

Vibrant Saurashtra Expo and Summit 2016 (VSES16) scheduled from 7 to 10 January 2016 in Rajkot (Gujarat, India), is being organised by Octagon Communications and Global Network, co-organised by the Rajkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in association with IndextB – Government of Gujarat and YUVA as an international partner representing Mauritius.

The focus of the summit is Trade, Investment, Tourism, Education and Culture. The theme of the event is MAKE IN INDIA, SKILLED INDIA, DIGITAL INDIA, CLEAN ( Swachha) INDIA and SMART (Cities) INDIA. Clusters from all over Saurashtra will be participating through an exhibition and a knowledge summit. Products and services of Saurashtra region will be on display at the exhibition. At the same time, the summit will deliver much needed knowledge capital on best practices from around the world for the Saurashtra cluster of industries.

20 country delegations will be visiting Vibrant Saurashtra from UK, UAE, USA, Canada, Australia, The Netherlands, Turkey, Japan, China, South Korea, Indonesia, Kenya, Mauritius, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Ethiopia etc. Pre-fixed one to one meetings ( B2B, B2G and P2P ) will be organised between exhibitors and foreign companies. Live video conference meetings with foreign buyers will also be organised. Awards night will be organised in the evening for honouring leading social and business contributors of Saurashtra by the hands of Honorable Chief Minister of Gujarat.

22 detailed investment reports for Saurashtra region will be released and presented on sectors like gems and jewellery, agricultural machinery and equipments, engineering and electrical, machine tools, brass components, food and edible oil, medical tourism, chemicals, cements, cotton and yarn, smart cities and real estate, kitchen appliances, handicrafts, textiles and garments, mining and minerals, timber and wood, automotive components, casting and forgings, ceramic tiles, sanitary ware and metal fabrication.

All leading Saurashtra based associations such as Rajkot Engineering Association, Rajkot Kitchenware Manufacturers Association, Morbi Ceramic Association, Rajkot Builders Association, Saurashtra Plastic Manufacturers Association, Jamnagar Factory Owners Association, Jamnagar Hardware Manufacturers Association, GIDC Lodhika Industrial Association, Saurashtra Ginners Association, Rajkot Gems and Jewelry Association, Gems and Jewelry Trade Council Of India, have whole heartedly supported the Vibrant Saurashtra Expo and Summit 2016.

YUVA contre le drame humain des réfugiés

Le monde entier a été secoué par la mort du petit syrien de 3 ans. En effet, le petit Aylan Kurdi, vêtu d’un t-shirt rouge et d’un short bleu a été retrouvé le visage contre le sable de Bodrum, une des plages les plus fréquentées de Turquie.

Le frère aîné d’Aylan Kurdi, 5 ans et sa mère ont également trouvé la mort dans le naufrage lorsqu’ils tentaient de fuir leur pays pour l’île grecque de Kos pour ensuite regagner la Grèce. Des milliers de réfugiés syriens tentent d’immigrés d’autres pays d’Europe pour fuir leur pays qui a connu de violents combats entre djihadistes de l’État islamique et miliciens kurdes.

Les garde-côtes turcs ont repêché douze corps sans vie parmi le corps du petit Aylan qui a vite fait le tour des réseaux sociaux. Les images ont montré le drame humain et ont touché des millions de personnes à travers le monde. Mais est-ce que la mort de ces personnes suffira à faire changer la décision européenne en ce qui concerne la migration de ces personnes dans leurs pays ?

YUVA demande aux autorités concernées de trouver une solution pour ces syriens qui ne font que lutter pour leurs survies. Ces réfugiés cherchent tout simplement à mettre leurs enfants en sécurité et fuir la guerre. Ils ne savaient cependant pas qu’ils allaient trouver la mort d’une autre manière.

Selon les agences humanitaires, 2000 personnes auraient effectué tous les jours le trajet entre les côtes turques et les îles orientales grecques sur des bateaux pneumatiques. Parmi les dizaines de milliers de personnes qui ont essayé de fuir la Syrie, 2.500 personnes ont trouvé la mort en tentant de franchir la Méditerranée pour gagner l’Europe depuis janvier 2015.

Le père du petit syrien a perdu toute sa famille et est arrivé vendredi dernier dans sa ville de Kobané (Syrie) pour inhumer sa famille. Aujourd’hui les victimes sont considérées comme des martyrs qui ont payé de leur vie pour fuir la guerre. Après la mort tragique de cette famille qui avait déjà essayé de partir au Canada et dont les papiers ont été rejetés, les autorités canadiennes travaillent sur un plan de travail pour accueillir un milliers d’immigrants.
