I am Tanveersingh Juwaheer “Nilesh”. I am 14 years old and I come from Petit Raffray in Mauritius.

As a student at Goodlands State Secondary School Boys, I follow a general academic education. At school, my favourite subject is Design and Technology. I have a strong preference for this subject over the theoretical disciplines, as it allows me to put my knowledge into practice while simultaneously acquiring some skills for the use of technology. I have always associated my passion for my studies. Passionate about video games, later on, I would like to use video game characters as inspiration to design robots that can help people to perform different domestic and other tasks.

After my studies, I plan to become an electronic engineer. My goal is to create a Start-up through which I will develop prototypes of video games and high-tech products such as artificial intelligence. Participating this year in the FIRST Global Challenge is an incredible opportunity for me. In my school, I often take part in robotics workshops but it is only to assemble electronic equipment. I’ve never really had a chance to design a robot. So, through this competition not only will I have the opportunity to design an entire robot but I will also be able to participate in a global ecological project which aims to fight against one of the most challenging issues of the 21st century, that is, the ocean pollution.

I’m looking forward to the Robotics Olympics. So, until the D-Day, I will focus all my energy on the project. I wish that our team will be able to win the competition so that my country can be among the best in the field of robotics. Being able to participate in this kind of competition is very important to me because it will allow me to show the importance of robotics in our lives. So, I hope our team will be victorious because this will make a big impact on the youth in our country.

I would like to encourage young people to be interested in robotics. I believe that the field of robotics has great economic potential, especially in terms of the creation of future jobs. Thus, motivating young people to study in the field of technology will be key to reduce unemployment among young graduates. Also, it will allow other young people uninterested in linear education to have other opportunities for professional integration.

Je suis Tanveersingh Juwaheer “Nilesh”. J’ai 14 ans et je viens de Petit Raffray à Maurice.

J’étudie à Goodlands State Secondary School Boys où je suis une formation académique générale. À l’école, ma matière favoris est le design et la technologie. Comme je n’aime pas trop les disciplines très théoriques, étudier ce module me permet simultanément de mettre en pratique mes connaissances académiques et d’acquérir des compétences utiles liés à l’utilisation des technologies. Passionné des jeux vidéo, j’ai toujours associé ma passion à mes études. Plus tard, je voudrai m’inspirer des personnages des jeux vidéo pour concevoir des robots qui pourront aider les gens à réaliser différents tâches domestiques et autres.

Après mes études, j’envisage de devenir ingénieur électronique. Mon objectif est de créer une Start-up par laquelle je développerai de prototypes des jeux vidéo et des produits de haute technologie comme une intelligence artificielle. Participer cette année à la FIRST Global Challenge représente pour moi une incroyable opportunité. Dans mon école, je prends souvent part à des ateliers robotiques mais c’est que pour assembler du matériel électronique. Je n’ai jamais eu vraiment la chance de concevoir un robot. Donc, avec cette compétition non seulement j’aurai la chance de concevoir un robot entier mais également de participer à un projet écologique de portée planétaire visant à lutter contre l’un des plus défis du 21eme siècle ; la pollution des océans.

J’ai vraiment hâte de participer aux jeux olympiques de la robotique. Mais en attentant le jour J, je vais me concentrer sur le projet de la compétition. Mon plus grand souhait est de gagner la compétition pour pouvoir représenter mon pays parmi les meilleurs dans le domaine de la robotique. Le fait de pouvoir participer à ce genre de compétition est très important pour moi. Car cela permet de faire connaître l’importance de la robotique dans nos vies. Donc, j’espère que notre équipe reportera la victoire. Comme ça, nous pourrons avoir un grand impact auprès des jeunes de notre pays.

J’aimerais encourager les jeunes à s’intéresser à la robotique. Je pense que le domaine de la robotique a un grand potentiel économique notamment en termes des métiers futurs. Ainsi, pouvoir motiver les jeunes à faire des études dans le domaine de la technologie constituerai un moyen de lutter contre le chômage des jeunes diplômes. En plus, cela permettra aux autres jeunes non intéressés par l’éducation linéaire d’avoir d’autres possibilités d’insertion professionnelle.
