YUVA forms collaborative relations with Yuva Unstoppable (India)

Yuva Unstoppable found out about the initiatives of YUVA in Mauritius and Africa and they were eager to meet the members to learn more about the namesake NGO and its projects. On Wednesday, 15 May 2019, members of YUVA met Mr Rishkumar, the Head Strategy & Communication of Yuva Unstoppable, and other members, at one of their schools located in New Delhi, India.

Yuva Unstoppable is India’s premier NGO, which has transformed 950 extremely poor government inner-city schools (better toilets, improved drinking water, scholarships, digital literacy, life skills training, etc.). Beginning in 2005, with a small group of enthusiastic individuals who strongly and deeply believed in the power of youth, Yuva Unstoppable has today become a nationwide thought, mobilising over 150,000 volunteers to benefit over 500,000 underprivileged children across 14 states of India.

YUVA empowers Hara Bhara India members with Leadership for Social Change programme

On Monday, 13 May 2019, YUVA conducted a half-day workshop at the Hotel Surya International on its Leadership for Social Change programme with young Indian activists forming part of an NGO called Hara Bhara India, which is based in New Delhi.

Founded by 18-year old Sumit Goyal, Hara Bhara India dreams of removing garbage and converting them into compost or recycling them in order to create a clean India. They are a group of engaged youth fighting for a pollution-free environment through different activities. They meet every Sunday at Rajiv Chowk in New Delhi to clean up the Central Park and the neighbouring areas, where they recycle all the collected garbage. Additionally, they conduct cleanliness campaigns in the streets of Laxmi Nagar to make their environment garbage-free. Moreover, they also organise Saplings Distribution programmes all over Delhi, to create mass awareness about air pollution.

YUVA and Smile Foundation explore collaboration on Setting-up of Social Entreprises

In an effort to connect and work with organisations operating in similar sectors, YUVA representatives met Mr Rajeev Sharma, the General Manager, Mr Mishra, the Co-Founder and Mr Dham, the Chief Operating Officer of Smile Foundation on Monday, 6 May 2019.

Smile Foundation is an NGO in India directly benefitting over 750,000 children and their families every year, through more than 350 live welfare projects on education, healthcare, livelihood and women empowerment, in over 1000 remote villages and slums across 25 states of India.

In an effort to initiate and further collaborative partnerships in India, a meeting took place between YUVA representatives and Mr Mathew Cherian, the CEO, as well as Ms Paromita Thomas, Country Head (HR) of HelpAge India on Monday, 6 May 2019.

Mauritius’ YUVA and New Delhi’s Zygma have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU), focused on culture, performing arts and modeling.

Mr Krishna Athal, National President of YUVA and Mr Sherman Preet Singh, head executive of Zygma Artists & Productions have signed the MoU yesterday afternoon.
