They are mental health disorders that are complex and that usually necessitate the involvement of health professionals to change their trajectory. Unfortunately, in Mauritius, individuals with eating disorders may endure additional stress and obstacles due to stigma. On Sunday, 27 September 2020, YUVA offered lunch to around 150 residents of the elderly care home, Saint Jean de Dieu – Hospice & Chapel at Pamplemousses.
The event saw the participation of around 20 volunteers too. YUVANs spent half a day with all those senior citizens who live at the home. After an introductory speech by one of the volunteers of YUVA, veg biryani was served along with soft drinks and water. Thereafter, some indoor activities were organised to bring some smiles on the faces of the elders.

The second World Food Safety Day (WFSD) will be celebrated on 7 June 2020 to draw attention and inspire action to help prevent, detect and manage foodborne risks, contributing to food security, human health, economic prosperity, agriculture, market access, tourism and sustainable development.
Following the success of the first celebration in 2019, this year again WFSD reinforces the call to strengthen commitment to scale up food safety made by the Addis Ababa Conference and the Geneva Forum in 2019 under the umbrella of “The Future of Food Safety”. WHO, in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is pleased to facilitate Member States efforts to celebrate the World Food Safety Day.
