A Team of Young People from Mauritius at the World Robotics Competition

Seven young people will represent Mauritius at the FIRST Global Challenge, the world robotics competition to be held in Geneva from 13 to 16 October 2022.

The FIRST Global Mauritius team, composed of five secondary school students and two young mentors (below 22 years old), has been selected to participate in the international Olympic-style robotics competition that takes place every year in a different country and to which one team from each country in the world is invited.

FIRST Global Mauritius Addressing Climate Change

FIRST Global Mauritius is proud to continue expanding our educational opportunities to youth worldwide. The New Technology Experience is a means for the student community to stay current with cutting-edge technology.

In 2021, we introduced the concept with the CubeSat Prototype Challenge. This year, the initiative is tied to the Carbon Capture theme. Carbon Countermeasures takes FIRST Global teams beyond the robotics game as they research and develop their own solutions to combat climate change.

There is immense importance of personal coaching in a being’s life. Most of the time, personal coaching is imperative for one to be successful and become a better person.

Coaching develops our knowledge and confidence, helps to discover our skills, is self-dependent and provides stability in life. The importance of coaching is evident when it comes to being self-dependent. Being self-dependent is presented to be the ability to take control over your life, be motivated from within and be able to take care of yourself. It helps us build opinions and have points of view on things in life.

Everything You Need to Know about Robotics Team Mauritius’ Chelsy Tow

Hello, my name is Chelsy Madison Tow nam. I’m 15 years old. I study at Loreto College of Port Louis and am in grade 9. I’m part of the YUVA’s Robotics Team Mauritius, participating in the FIRST Global Challenge 2022.

I’m very introverted and have a lot of difficulties communicating with others, making it hard for me to make new friends. Fortunately, when I joined YUVA Mauritius, my teammates were friendly to me, making it easy for me to get to know each of them. Also, getting used to a new environment takes me a lot of time.
