About Deepa Gokulsing

Deepa Gokulsing is a Senior Lecturer in Sociology at the Faculty of Social Sciences & Humanities, at the University of Mauritius. Her research interests are family, gender, higher education and labour market, migration, poverty, social development and policy. Ms Gokulsing has been working on a number of consultancy projects for various ministries and organisations. She has presented papers on several issues at both local and international conferences, published papers in international academic journals and a book chapter on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Emerald Books. Deepa is also a team member of the ‘Applied Socio-Economic Research and Analysis’ (ASERA), Pole of Research Excellence under the University of Mauritius, currently working on a project related to drugs use among young people in Mauritius and Rodrigues.
