In the world of robotics and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), young talents often emerge as inspiring figures. One such rising star is Sudharshan Mohajeer, an 18-year-old high school student at Saint Mary’s College in Mauritius.
Sudharshan is gaining recognition in the robotics community as a proud member of Team Mauritius at the FIRST Global Challenge 2023, travelling to Singapore this October. In this article, we explore Sudharshan’s journey, his passion for robotics, and his aspirations for the future.
“I am very thrilled to be part of Team Mauritius in FIRST Global 2023”, affirmed Sudharshan with enthusiasm. “It is an honour for me to represent my country in such a prestigious competition”, he added.
Sudharshan’s passion for robotics dates back to his early childhood. “I have always been fascinated by RC cars”, he said. “I used to wonder how they worked. As I got older, I started learning about building and programming them, and that is how my passion for robotics began”, mentioned Sudharshan.
FIRST Global 2023 is an international robotics competition that brings together the brightest high-school students in the field of robotics from all over the world, aiming to empower them through science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education.
The competition fosters cross-cultural communication, cooperation, and problem-solving skills, empowering students to collectively tackle global challenges and come up with innovative solutions.
Ever since Sudharshan and his teammates joined Team Mauritius, they embarked on a journey filled with dedication and determination to prepare for the upcoming competition. With a clear focus on their goals, Sudharshan expressed the team’s aspirations, saying, “Our team’s primary objective is to win the competition. We are committed to giving our very best in the pursuit of this goal, aiming to serve as an inspiring example for others too.”
Nevertheless, the path to the competition was far from smooth, marked by a few challenges that tested the team’s unity. Sudharshan revealed, “Throughout the process of working on our robot, we encountered numerous obstacles, particularly in the realms of programming and in assembling the robot itself. However, the true strength of our team emerged when we put together our expertise, creativity, and determination to overcome every difficulty that stood in our way successfully.”
Sudharshan has a clear vision for his future career, and he enthusiastically shared it: “I aspire to be an engineer because it is not just a job but a fantastic opportunity in a field that demands dedication and offers tremendous rewards.”
In concluding remarks, Sudharshan shared an inspiring message to his peers: “My advice is simple but powerful: never stop learning, keep pursuing your dreams and passions, and you will find success.”
We wish the very best of luck to Sudharshan and the entire team. May your hard work and dedication lead to great success in FIRST Global 2023 and beyond. Go Team Mauritius!
